In the Journal of Asthma (2012; 49:16–22) for the article “Asthma incidence among children and adults: findings from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Asthma Call-Back Survey—United States, 2006–2008,” the authors have noticed an error since publication.
In the section “Statistical Analyses,” the sentence which reads “SE and relative SE (the SE divided by the estimate) were calculated for each incidence rate (11).” should have cited reference 14 and not reference 11.
In addition, the sentence which reads “Data for states that participated in the ACBS during multiple years were reweighted as original weights divided by number of data years (14).” should not have cited reference 14. Instead reference 11 should have been cited for the previous sentence, reading as follows:
Data were weighted to account for nonresponse differences in the sample and unequal probability of sample selection (11). Data for states that participated in the ACBS during multiple years were reweighted as original weights divided by number of data years.
The publishers apologize for this error.
