Abstract

Having moved to new facilities the Burns Unit in Copenhagen installed an air-fluidized bed (CLINITRON, Mk II). The difficulties encountered by both patients and nurses during the start-up period of the bed are described, and it is concluded that the introduction of such devices can be made more smoothly if the staff knows of the experience gained by other units.
