Note from the Editor and Publisher

The Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of the Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology fully investigated the suggestion contained in this Letter to the Editor that Gaofeng et al. [Citation1] have ‘borrowed heavily’ from the study previously published by Al-Nazer et al. in the Journal of Biomechanics [Citation2].

Although there are some similarities between the two papers in terms of the wording used, we did not feel it was necessary to take any action regarding the publication of the study published in the journal by Gaofeng et al. in 2009.

This Letter to the Editor has been peer-reviewed and accepted by the Editor-in-Chief and was sent to Gaofeng et al. inviting them to respond. Gaofeng et al. declined to have their response to this Letter to the Editor published in the Journal.
