Chemoprevention of Contralateral Breast Cancer with the Synthetic Retinoid Fenretinide

Abstract

The Milan Cancer Institute has been involved in clinical research on breast cancer for the last 25 years, and although the previous studies have been mainly concerned with trials aimed at refining the chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgical procedures, in recent years we have been progressively interested in detection and prevention programs. In this latter context, we have developed a special interest in research in chemoprevention with retinoids.
