Recent Insights into the Functions of the Retinoblastoma Susceptibility Gene Product

Abstract

The retinoblastoma susceptibility gene (RB-1) was among the first tumor suppressor genes to be cloned and has provided many useful paradigms for the study of molecular alterations in cancer cells. This article will review recent insights into the role of its protein product, pRB, in cell growth control.
