Abstract

Sheep red blood cell (SRBC) (E) rosette formation by T lymphocytes was stabilized and enhanced in the presence of the high molecular weight substances bovine serum albumin (BSA), dextran and Ficoll. Of the three compounds used for stabilization, Ficoll was chosen as a standard high molecular weight E rosette stabilizer because it is a synthetic compound, which is readily available, relatively inexpensive, and does not require SRBC adsorption.
