The diagnosis of cutaneous manifestations of tuberculosis and responses to BCG vaccinations are the field of expertise of the dermatologist. In the last decade, a new challenge has emerged which involves the increased awareness that immunosuppressive treatments may increase the occurrence and the phenotype of these and other opportunistic infections. Globalization is another challenge which requires that dermatologists all over the world have to be experts in this field. In this issue, there are two articles on the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis and responses to BCG vaccination.

In the next issue, there will be three articles on biologics: biosimilars and the most recently introduced biologic ustekinumab.

The pharmacologic treatment of basal cell carcinoma is an important development especially for multiple lesions and field cancerization. An experimental approach and a study on imiquimod are presented.

An innovative and a classical treatment for atopic dermatitis will be presented.
