Abstract
Recently, coverage has been given, in publications of the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, to the attitude of trainees to their training [1,2], adverse experiences during training [3], and to ways in which trainees can enhance the prospect of success in the College examinations [4]. However, whilst it is universally acknowledged that the final exams are stressful for the candidate, little attention has been given to assessment of the longer-term impact of the exam process on candidates. The current study aimed to investigate this issue, in a survey of trainees who had successfully negotiated the FRANZCP Part 2 exam.
