Abstract
The authors assessed sertraline, a serotonin uptake inhibitor, in an open trial of 11 outpatient cocaine abusm. Cocaine craving decreased and psychological functioning improved. Five subjects abstained from use for 3 week. these results suggest sertmline's treatment efficacy for cocaine abuse and support a role for serotonin in this disorder.
