Abstract

Beginning with the work of Coon and Rothman in 1939–41, it has been substantiated that nicotine and nicotine-like agents produce the axon reflex sweating in human skin. The sweating of the same mechanism can be elicited also by high concentrations of sodium chloride (Wada, Arai, Takagaki and Nakagawa, 1952).
