Measurement of Thoracic Deformities: A New Technique Giving Objective and Reproducible Results

Pages 76-79 | Accepted 20 Oct 1966, Published online: 12 Jul 2009

Abstract

Many operations have been evolved for correction of thoracic deformities. Comparisons of the results have been hampered by lack of a method sufficiently accurate to permit objective and reproducible measurements of the thoracic cage. A special measuring apparatus was, therefore, constructed and has proved to be satisfactorily accurate. The apparatus and its use are described.
