While preparing this Editorial, the news came through that Bob Edwards had been awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine. We all send our heartfelt congratulations on this wonderful, long overdue news.
I am very pleased to welcome this Special Issue of Human Fertility and to thank the Editors: Allan Pacey, Jane Stewart, Sheena Lewis and Raj Mathur, and all the authors, for their excellent work in bringing it to fruition. I would also like to take this opportunity to announce two changes to the production of the Journal.
The first is concerned with editorial matters. Now that Human Fertility is firmly established, we have felt it could benefit from the appointment of a small number of Sub-editors; each representing one of the major areas covered by the Journal and epitomising its multidisciplinarity. Their role will be to provide leadership in their particular area and become the focal point for this field in the Journal, responsible for ensuring appropriate coverage, commissioning authors to submit their work, and developing strategy. Following a vote of the Editorial Board members, I am delighted to announce that the following four Sub-editors have been appointed:
Jane Denton: Nursing, Counselling and Ethics
Sub-editor; email: [email protected]
Sarah Earle: Health and Social Sciences Sub-editor;
email: [email protected]
Allan Pacey: Science Sub-editor; email: A.Pacey@
Sheffield.ac.uk
Jane Stewart: Clinical Sub-editor; email: Jane.
Prospective authors are encouraged to approach the appropriate Sub-editor if they have an idea for a manuscript they might wish to submit to Human Fertility; this could report original findings, review some aspect of the field, report on a meeting or discuss some topical issue. Equally, authors may approach any other member of the Editorial Board, or myself, if they wish.
The second change is to the location of the Editorial Office, which is moving from the Department of Biology, University of York to the Hull York Medical School (HYMS), University of Hull Campus, where I have been appointed a Professor Emeritus. Contact details are as follows:

Hull York Medical School

The new email for the journal is:
I will continue as Editor-in-Chief and Sandra Downing, as Editorial Assistant
