The Editor, Editorial Board, and Publisher of the Journal of Immunotoxicology hereby retract the following article from publication:

Bellinger D.L., Lubahn C. and Lorton D. 2008. Maternal and early life stress effects on immune function: relevance to Immunotoxicology. Journal of Immunotoxicology 5:419–444.

This article has been found to reproduce content extensively and with a high degree of similar language, without appropriate attribution or acknowledgement by the authors, from the following article:

Merlot E., Couret D., and Otten W. 2008. Prenatal stress, fetal imprinting and immunity. Brain, Behaviour, and Immunity 22:42-51.

The journal’s policy in this respect is clear: the Journal of Immunotoxicology considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that they have been submitted only to the Journal of Immunotoxicology, that they have not been published already, nor are they under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere.

The Journal of Immunotoxicology published this article in good faith, and on the basis of legal warranties made by the corresponding author regarding the originality of their work. The article is withdrawn from all print and electronic editions.
