Abstract
In this study, we present the complete mitochondrial genome of P. s. hainanus, which is spread over Hainan Island, southern China and northern Vietnam, containing 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes (srRNA and lrRNA) and 2 extensive heteroplasmic control regions. All protein-coding, rRNA genes have more than 99.0% nucleotide sequence similarity with the previously reported individual of P. s. formosae, except for cox3 and CRs. Notably, we found that the nucleotide sequence of P. s. formosae mtDNA has more similarity with P. taivanus.
