Summary
The results obtained with a modification of the slide latex fixation test for rheumatoid arthritis are demonstrated.
The author further reports on a positive correlation between the serological tests for the rheumatoid factor and the duration of the disease and the severity of joint involvements measured by the degree of synovial fluid.
Certain criteria are set up by which it should be possible to ensure a correct diagnosis in some doubtful cases applying the results of the serological tests for the rheumatoid factor. In the author's material one has been able to do so in about one third of the doubtful cases.
