Abstract
The use of the percolation model from lattice statistics to represent the distribution of trappingtimes for air bubbles in polar ice is discussed. A number of relevant techniques and resultsfrom the statistical mechanics of phase transitions are reviewed in order to propose suitableapproaches for performing a more refined lattice statistics analysis of bubble trapping.
