Poor and Puritan; an attempt to view Zionism as a collective response to urban poverty

  • It will be clear that there is nothing novel in this analysis of which the most celebrated exponent is Weber and, in a sense, the foregoing is but a poor summary of the ascetical features of the Puritan ethic set out in The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism (pp. 157 , 183 ).
