  • These ‘knives’ are more properly described as harpoon heads and would be attached to a shaft, probably of bone. The specimens referred to are B.M. 87561 and 87562 and are figured in Sowerby James Exotic Mineralogy London 1811–1817 2 [-20] 1817, vol. ii, plate 163, figs. 8 and 9 (actual date of issue 1820).
