- Von den heute noch nachweisbaren Sixthermometern in èngland—nach Ansicht der Herausgeber bisher nur ein Gerät im Museum of Science in Oxford—konnten diese kürzlich 26 Geräte im Museum of Science in London in der King George III-Collection ermitteln (vgl. Vorwort). Dabei muß freilich erganzt werden, daß Taylor E.G.R. The mathematical practioners of Hanoverian England 1714–1840 Cambridge 1966 323 323 in ihrem Werk bereits auf die Sixthermometer in dieser genannten Kollektion hinwies.
