Das Mikroskop: Geschichte und Gegenwärtiger Zustand des Mikroskopes sowie der Hülfsapparate bei Mikroskopischen Untersuchungen , second edition Braunschweig German translation a reprint of this edition was made by the antiquarian bookseller B. M. Israël (Amsterdam, 1970), see part III, 132–133. In a note Harting details the find: ‘…

  • The fact that the lenses are burnished into their cell makes it very improbable that Tulley made them; his lenses are always kept in their cell by means of a little screwed cap. C. R. Goring mentions these Dollond triplet lenses in his article: On Achromatic Microscopes, with a description of certain Objects for trying their Defining and Penetrating Power Quarterly Journal of Science, Literature and Art 1827 1 410 434 (p. 410)
