Pages 93-101 | Published online: 10 Apr 2013

Bibliography

  • (The determination of the hazards of materials as they pertain to health, fire, and stability sometimes requires search of references from innumerable sources to find even one physical or chemical characteristic. However, it is the general conclusion that the necessary information is available either in published form or by direct request to the manufacturer of the material.)
  • The first step in determining the physical and chemical properties of a material is a direct request to the manufacturer for the necessary data to determine the hazards involved as they pertain to health, fire, and stability for the purposes of identifying materials by this system. In the event that data are not available from that source, it may be located in some of the following references or through research organizations or government agencies.

However, it does give information on industrial chemicals. The table of contents indicates the various state labeling laws and regulations for household chemicals. This reference material will be helpful in determining hazards of materials.)
