(Madrid: CSIC, 1944), docs. 30, 82. It is unclear why the name was disliked by the inhabitants. Did it derive from coleones through coyones plus the suffix-anza? (A suggestion I owe to Dr R. H. P. Wright.) Or from coxones plus-anza?
