  • Horizon stated by Carruthers R. G. Geol. Mag. 1919 441 441 which, he says, is locally developed as a γ-phase.
  • Thomson , J. 1883 . Proc. Phil. Soc. Glasgow , xiv. : 349 – 350 . pl. iv. figs. 4 & 4 a) records the species from Scotland (Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire), but we are not satisfied that the small form he described investing spines of products is really E. parasitica.
  • Edwards and Haime . 1851 . Pol. Foss. des Terr. Pal. , : 54 – 54 . mention a coral found at Button Mould Knobs, near Louisville, Kentucky, which they say is the same as E. parasitica. E. de Fromental, 1869 (Introd. à l'Etude des Pol. Foss.), p. 269, therefore, quotes that locality as one in which the species occurs.
