  • 1850 . Suez There was a barque of 397 tons built at Sunderland in. She was sailing to the Mediterranean under the Swedish flag in 1859. [Ed.]
  • 1854 . Ed In the Registers of 1859 and 1864 there is a Kate schooner of 58 tons built at Padstow in. Master: T. Jenkin. Owner: Jenkin and Co. 53′3 × 15′7 × 8′4. It seems more than likely that this is actually the Newquay vessel. []
  • Named to commemorate the liberation of the sister of the owner, Johns of Crantock, who had married a North African and been taken to a harem in Algiers. She got a note to some seamen, who brought it to Mr Johns. He then took a ship to the place of her captivity and eventually got her away in a barrel
  • 1869 . Ed. Perhaps the brigantine of 156 tons built at Bridport in. []
  • By some accounts built at Porth
  • Sailmaker's notes and Casualty List give her as a schooner, but Registers as a brig
