- 1758 . Some accounts of Emo's life put this voyage in 1761, but the orders for sending out the three ships and his own letters describing the voyage prove beyond a doubt that it took place in. My account is based on Emo's letters
- 1750 . The San Carlo was the first ship of a new class. She measured 162 ft. from stem to stern post by 43·3 ft. beam. Her keel length was 143·7 ft., Venetian ships having very short rakes forward. She was completed in. The San Vicenzo (1752) was probably about 125ft. on the keel; the Costanza (1757) was 106 ft. Guns are not stated, but were probably about 70, 50 and 30 respectively
