• It is worth noting that the conclusions given here are also applicable for the other two members of the p‐polyphenyls series. For both biphenyl (Refs. (1–4)) and p‐quaterphenyl (Ref. (11)) the molecular packing is also with long molecular axes in the ac plane, and one should find one of exciton's ZFS axes at about 17° from a.
