- There are no room temperature measurements of T1 relaxation for benzophenone (BP). Low temperature experiments have been carried out for BP and the T1 values are in the range of 10–100 µs: see J. A. Mucha and D. W. Pratt, J. Chem. Phys. 66, 5356(1977). Extrapolation to room temperature using the electronic dipolar relaxation mechanism easily places the T1 value for BP, and in fact most other carbonyl triplet states, at 10 ns or less
