VCH Publishers New York 1989 129 129 has long anticipated the BζLN Coriolis type terms as an important factor forming the structure of Rydberg states of rare gas hydrides. He also uses ζ-type corrections to the orbital angular momentum to describe the rotational structure of the Rydberg polyatomic molecules H3 and NH4 in [9] and [10]. In the case of ArD however, he was in favour of strong sΣ-pΠ ‘Coriolis’ mixing rather than of a deformed p complex structure of type (2). In recent work [23], Watson has shown in detail that a large dipole moment of the core can indeed be the cause of s-p mixing. We discuss this subject in section 5.1
