An authentic sample of the pure semicarbazone obtained from Professor Djerassi gave the following rotation: [α]25 D-141.2° (95% EtOH) on a Perkin Elmer Model 141 Automatic Polarimeter. The semicarbazone prepared in our laboratory gave a rotation of [α]25 D-144.6° (95% EtOH), mp 204–205.50
