- At the earlier stage of the treatment with sodium formate-formic acid, two stereoisomers of 9a were found in addition to 9a; for 9b: nmr (CCl4): & 7. 72 and 7.33 (d, 13. 8 Hz, 1H each), 6.41 (s, 1H), 3.80 and 3.73 (s, 3H each) and for 9c: 6.40 and 6.25 (d, 9.0 Hz, 1H each), 6.15 (s, 1H), 3.88 and 3.75 (s, 3H each) ppm. However, further studies were not undertaken.
- Satisfactory elemental analysis data were obtained for all new compounds
