Significant characterization data includes: 2a: δ 7.79(t, 2H, C10H6), 8.31(dd, 2H, J=7.4Hz, J=l.lHz, C10H6), 8.62(dd, 2H, J=7.4Hz, J=l.lHz, C10H6); m/e 379.8768 (caled 379.8562). 2b: 5 7, 05-8.09(m, 7H, C10H7); m/e 253.9817(calcd 253.9594). 2c: δ 7.34(d, 2H, J=8.7Hz, C6H4), 7.82(d, 2H, J=8.7Hz, C6H4); m/e 228.9373(calcd 228.9390). 2d: 6 7.57(d, 2H, J=8.3Hz, C6H4), 7.89(d, 2H, J=8.3Hz, C6H4), 9.96(s, 1H, CHO); m/e 231.9434(calcd 231.9387). 2e: δ 0.89 (t, 3H, J=7.OHz, CH3), 1.27(m, 6H, 3CH2), 2.35(t, 2H, J=7.0Hz, CH2), 7.07(d, 2H, J=7.5Hz, C6H4), 7.69(d, 2H, J=7.5Hz, C6H4); m/e 298,0274(calcd 298.0220). 2f: 5 3.76(s, 3H, OCH3), 6.65(d, 2H, J=8.9Hz, C6H4), 7.52(d, 2H, J=8.9Hz, C6H4); m/e 233.9607(caled 233.9543)
