- This comminution was effective in reducing the particle size such that greater than 98% of the solids in the slurry passed through a 200 mesh screen. The temperature rose to 37°C and about 100 mL of dichloromethane evaporated. In jacketed equipment, cooling prevents this loss. The blender was fitted with a Polytron rotor-stator and Kalrez seals. Neoprene or Viton seals were unsuitable.
