- One wonders, in the absence of sufficient evidence, whether the -ši (-vśi) represent a true past while the -v forms are simply nonpresent.
- The Ušakov dictionary marks the past participles and gerunds of compounds of -šibit' and čest' as non-existent or to be avoided.

In addition they are not infrequent in nineteenth-century literature.
