  • General Assembly resolution 3485 (XXX) of December 12, 1975 Security Council resolution 384 (1975) of 22 December 1975 and its resolution 389 (1976) of 22 April 1976 all repudiated the Indonesian action in the territory, while General Assembly resolution of December, 1976 “Rejects the claim that East Timor has been integrated into Indonesia inasmuch as the people of the Territory have not been able to exercise freely their right of self-determination and independence“.
  • 1976 . The Fifth Conference of the Heads of State of the Non-Aligned Conference in Sri Lanka . August 1976 . included a resolution supporting the independence of East Timor in its Political Communique despite vigorous opposition by the Indonesian delegation led by Foreign Minister Malik.
