  • The Estonian Social Democratic Party (ESDP) was founded in Tartu, on May 19,1990. ESDP unites predominantly urban inhabitants of Tallinn, Tartu, Narva and Kohtla‐Järve, but it has local organizations in eight countries. The party chairman is Marju Lauristin. The party is represented in Riigikogu (Parliament) by the Moderate fraction comprising 12 MPs, 5 of them members of the ESDP. This statement was written for Nationalities .Papers.
