- Owing to similarity in solubilities of these aqua complexes and of KNO3, it was not possible to obtain the complexes free of contamination by KNO3. Elemental analyses of both complexes yielded results which were high in nitrogen and low in carbon and hydrogen. However, analyses of aqua complexes produced directly from resolved nitro complexes were much better, and will be discussed later in this section
- K+ salts of the enantiomers tended to form tars upon sitting in air, although they would remain dry in a vacuum desiccator over conc. H2SO4
