  • We use the term color preference index (CPI) in the same sense as CRI, but use Judd's9 specification of preferred colors of important identifiable objects as the reference. If we set CPI = 100 for average daylight (Illuminant C) then for an illuminant rendering colors exactly to Judd's specifications for preferred colors, CPI = 155. For the real daylight (3) fluorescent lamp of Table II, CPI = 121. For the standard daylight fluorescent lamp, CPI = 83.
