Book Review Essay: Canadian History Textbooks for a U.S. Audience

Pages 135-144 | Published online: 11 Nov 2009

NOTES

  • For those of you wondering why this seems so important to me, many United States history textbooks, in order to save space, delete the footnotes. More than one would expect, students challenge conclusions and it is up to the professor to explain the evidence. Therefore, it is nice to see the evidence fully explained, especially when the topic is unfamiliar to students.
  • Though the National Archives and National Library both make a large amount of documents available on the Web, perfect for research papers.
