  • The unassigned quadrupole doublet of low spin Fe(III) (IS=0.45, ΔE =1.70) in the Mössbauer spectrum of iron-bleomycin with 2-mercaptoethanol, at near neutral pH, shown in Fig. 11B may well be due to the Fe(III)-bleomycin complex characterized also by the 11 ppm NMR signal. However, until we obtain further evidence this is merely a tentative assignment
