- MORTON KLEIN is Professor of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University. He has been at Columbia since 1957, has served as IEOR Department Chairman, and is currently responsible for its IE undergraduate programme. Before earning an EngScD in industrial engineering from Columbia, he received a BSME from Duke University and an MS in mechanical engineering from Columbia. Professor Klein was an Associate Editor and a Department Editor for Management Science. His research has included work on production and inventory planning, scheduling examinations for early cancer detection, inventory depletion management, and network flows.
