  • Interview information for this article was taken from the Dhahran Community Study at the University of Petroleum and Minerals. The Study was developed by Dr Jon Parssinen as a long-term means of viewing the social impact of change processes in Saudi Arabia. Most of the data were gathered by students in General Studies 424 (Social Change in the Developing World), and special thanks must go to these students for their dedicated work. Note that interview responses are in both past and present tenses. Tense usage depends on whether or not a person was still living in Saudi Camp when he was interviewed..
