A Examination of Recent History in Museum Education

Briley Rasmussen Briley Rasmussen is the Specialist for Museum Learning at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She has worked at the J. Paul Getty Museum; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; and the Neuberger Museum of Art. She brings together the practices of art museum education, art history, and museum history to her work. She holds an M.A. in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art and an M.S.Ed. in Leadership in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education in New York, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Museum Studies at the University of Leicester. Her research centers on Victor D'Amico and the early history of education programming at the Museum of Modem Art, New York, and explores the relationships between art-making practices, art history, and museum pedagogy.

Scott Winterrowd Scott Winterrowd is Curator of Education at the Meadows Museum, Southern Methodist University. He has worked for major art museums, including the Dallas Museum of Art, and the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Much of Scott's career has been devoted to working between art museums and the public education system and in developing interpretive materials for exhibitions. He holds an M.A. in Art Education with a certificate in Art Museum Education from the University of North Texas. He has served as a board member for Museum Education Roundtable, 2003–2008 and on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Museum Education, 2007–2008.
