  • Sen's, Sunil , 1946–7. Agrarian Struggle in Bengal . New Delhi: People's Publishing House; 1946–7, has been the most comprehensive English-language book on the Tebhaga uprising. Krishna Kanta Sarkar, “Kakdwip Tebhaga Movement,” in A.R. Desai's edited collection, Peasant Struggles in India (New Delhi: Oxford University Press, 1981), pp. 468–85, covers the movement in some detail as it occurred in the Sundarbans region south of Calcutta. Yet both these fail to document the participation of women other than in inspirational terms. Adrienne Cooper's forthcoming book on the Tebhaga uprising should hopefully contribute to the neglected area of women's participation..
