Essay Getting the Gay Out: Addressing Sexual Identity in the Voice Classroom

John Kenneth DeBoer John Kenneth DeBoer is a third year Master of Fine Arts Candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University studying with Janet Rodgers. During his time in Richmond he has coached several productions and taught various courses, including the cross-disciplinary performance course which will be the subject of his thesis, “Camp: Ridiculous Theatre as Serious Drama”. A life-long native of South Bend, Indiana and the University of Notre Dame, he elected to attend Indiana University and Bloomington where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Drama with a minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 2004.
