  • We should note that the domain of this analysis is not the entirety of executive education in the United States. Most obviously, private sector programs, even those that may be attended by public executives, have been excluded. We have also excluded federal executive education programs and degree programs. There are two basic reasons for focusing on this particular segment of the population. First, the primary objective of the analysis was to gather information from programs similarly situated that would allow us to improve our own executive education program in South Carolina and share that information so that other programs could also benefit. Second, the intent was to focus on a segment of the population that had gone relatively unexamined in previous studies. Therefore, these results should not be interpreted as a comprehensive overview of executive education, but an addition to the existing body of knowledge
