  • In a typical reaction procedure, the catalyst (0.5 g) was mixed with the substrate (100 mmol), acetonitrile (25 mL) and 30% hydrogen peroxide (400 mmol) in a 500 mL V-shaped flask closed with a rubber stopper and subjected to ultra sound irradiation for the desired period with a 2 s on-1 s-off pulsating cycle. The temperature of the bulk reaction mixture was also measured during ultrasound-irradiation. For comparison purpose, the experiments were also conducted in the liquid phase under conventional heating conditions in an oil bath
