The Archive that Never Was: State Terror and Historical Memory in GuatemalaFootnote^*

* My first visit to the Archivo Histórico de la Policía Nacional (ahpn), in August 2010, came about through the good offices of Catherine Nolin and Marc Drouin. The latter's doctoral investigations, like those of Kirsten Weld, will deepen our understanding of the mechanisms of state terror in Guatemala.
