  • 8) Alternatively, oxidation of N-methyltyroscherin (14), prepared from tyroscherin (aq. HCHO, NaBH3CN, CH3CN, 94%), by several reagents (PCC, Dess-Martin periodinane) resulted in decomposition of the starting material. Oxidation of 14 was succeeded by using TPAP, NMO, but the corresponding YM-193221 (1) was also given as a 1:1 mixture of diastereomers at C2.
