Lipid vesicles are prepared which are stable, highly efficient, cost effective and able to cure diseases not previously cured.

The presence of a carbohydrate or related compound controls the release, masks the taste and stabilizes the active ingredient of an encapsulated pharmaceutical.

  • US Patent 4,411,795 (1983) Particle adsorption BAXTER TRAVENOL LABORATORIES INC. W. P. Olson. Lipid particles and microorganisms can be removed from aqueous suspensions by an adsorbent coated on to nylon wool.
  • US Patent 4,411,798 (1983) Separating deuterium oxide [D20] from water using surfactant systems STANDARD OIL co. K. S. Chan. To separate D20 from solutions, a surfactant system was added which became enriched with D2O. Addition of 0.2% octane produced coacervation in which enrichment of D20 was observed.

  • USSR Patent 1,045,906 (1983) Microcapsules for dyes ALL-UNION SCIENTIFIC-RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY. L. B. Verkholantseva, M. E. Kartasheva, V. V. Voronov and E. A. Ul'yankin. Microcapsules containing dyes were prepared, their strength being increased and their agglomeration prevented by additional treatment prior to heating.
