Section Editor(s): Fulvia Bovera, University of Napoli (Italy) and Paolo Trevisi University of Bologna (Italy)

Non-ruminants have a strict relationship with humans, not solely as a good source of high nutritional food but also socially. In both cases, management of nutrition & feeding is pivotal. For farm animals, this involves several aspects, including physiological development, robustness, resilience, & the reduction of environmental production impacts. This section welcomes research related to nutrient requirements & nutritional levels; novel ingredients to totally/partially replace conventional protein & energy sources; novel ingredients/supplements containing bioactive compounds to prevent the use of drugs; feed digestibility & the impact of diets on animal intestinal health; smart approaches for precision management of animal nutrition/feeding; the effects of diets on the physical & chemical-nutritional characteristics of animal products, as well as animal growth performance. For pet, nutrition concerns animal diet relating to digestion, growth, performance.
